In the spirit of the new year, I wanted to begin a new tradition of sharing some wise words that have inspired me. This particular quote is one I have always loved, and it really describes my mindset going into 2019.
"What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." -Ralph Waldo Emerson
This quote always reminds me of what truly matters. Not the past. Not the uncertainty of the future. What matters most this year is building character, and changing my attitude toward the changes coming my way!
How do you plan to overcome obstacles this upcoming year? How are you going to tackle the present?
2019 is a clean slate. It’s a chance to start fresh. As tempting as it might be to worry about the past or the future (thx anxiety), Emerson reminds us to focus on our hopes and dreams. Focus on achieving your goals this year. Focus on the present. Focus on who you are as a person. Don't look back with regret; always look forward to new opportunities!
